My name is Mike Stratton. When I was 21, my dad bought an upholstery shop in Escondido, CA. After looking for job for some time, I gave in and asked my dad if I could have a job. He gave me broom and told me to sweep the floors. While I 'honing my floor sweep skills' I got the chance to tag along with Ray. Ray, was the full time trimmer/upholster at my dad's shop. He was very grumpy and even more stubborn. Some how I tricked him into liking me and into teaching me some things. Ray is long gone, but 20 some years later, I take pride in carrying on the tradition of hard work and craftsmanship that I learned from him and my dad as I now run my own shop in Oceanside ,CA. Established in Oct. 2014.

At my dad's shop, we specialized in dealer warranty work. We did the upholstery for all of the dealerships in Escondido at one point. We built fantastic relationships with the people at Ford, Honda, Mazda and Toyota just to name a few.

Along with the everyday trim work that I still do, like convertible tops and  headliners, I have taken part in seminars put on by legendary hot rod upholsterer Ron Mangus and continue to grow with each project that I do. Whether it be back to stock on a '68 Camaro, a mild custom in a "55 Chevy wagon or a full custom interior in a '66 Olds , or a '69 vw bus. I think my favorites are one off motorcycle seats though.
